Welcome to the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (formerly the Wisconsin Comprehensive Memory Program) of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, and the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinic Center (GRECC) of the Madison VA Medical Center. I am delighted for your interest in our program and strongly believe that your participation in our research is important for the advancement of science and society at large. We are pioneering the field of memory research at UW, and there are multiple studies being conducted that are examining potential treatments for Alzheimer's disease and other types of memory problems such as Mild Cognitive Impairment. In addition, there are studies investigating how to prevent memory decline and dementia. Currently, there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease. We are hopeful, however, that with research conducted here and at similar centers throughout the nation, we will eventually find a treatment for one of the most devastating diseases known to affect humans.
